We’re pleased to announce the addition of nationally important groundwater datasets to the ESNZ DataHub. These datasets provide long-term, high‑quality measurements and model outputs to better support water management:
- National depth to groundwater spatial data – Modelled shallow groundwater presence-absence gridded datasets per territorial authority.
- Te Whakaheke o Te Wait (National Groundwater) – National continuous map of groundwater age, origin and flow paths based on the USGS's MODFLOW6 model.
- Geothermal and Groundwater database (GGW) – Geochemical, hydrological, geological and/or geophysical information for locations around New Zealand.
- New Zealand Groundwater Recharge Model – Monthly data of 1km x 1km rainfall recharge to groundwater, from Jan-2000 - Dec-2014.
- New Zealand Aquifer Potential Map – National scale mapping of Aquifer potential classification.
- National Groundwater Monitoring Programme – Groundwater source location, quality indicators, tracer measurements for 110 nation wide locations.
