Regional climatology gridded data

'Climatologies' are long-term averages of climate parameters derived from observations. We build our climatology maps using data from NIWA’s extensive national climate database, satellite data, and output from global-scale and local-scale climate models. We generate data for a range of parameters (a limited range is available on this web page, see below) and periods (e.g. annual, seasonal, monthly, see below). Our maps are created using a Geographic Information System (GIS) and we produce outputs as attractive images and provide climate information as digital layers to be incorporated into your specific project.

This webpage provides regional datasets for a number of climate parameters and periods.

The data is available under certain licence arrangements and incur fees (Why?). 

Data access per user account is limited to 30 datasets for one region (Why?).
